This Plate was donated by Arthur Wright, stalwart of the Mid Week Section for many years, in memory of his wife. From 1976 to 1993 it was competed for by the Mid Week members. From 2000 onwards it has been the trophy for a Veterans’ Tournament.
This is mixed doubles tournament for seniors (over 45 years of age).
The partnerships are drawn out of hat so just sign your name up.

The annual Doris Wright Tournament was played in glorious sunshine, making for a fantastic day of tennis and great company.
After some closely contested matches throughout the day, congratulations go to Vicky and Tony, who were crowned this year’s champions with an excellent performance in the final. A big well done also to Mary and Sam, who finished as worthy runners-up after a great tournament.
Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a success. It was wonderful to see so many members enjoying the tennis, the sunshine, and the friendly atmosphere. We look forward to doing it all again next year!

The rain cleared up just in time for the start of the Dorris Wright Tournament, and we were treated to a lovely afternoon of tennis. There was a lovely turnout and plenty of exciting tennis to watch. A big thank you to Dave for running the event!

11 ‘Vets’ took part in the Doris Wright Quick Tournament. The final was between Tony Willford and Suzanne Bull vs Tom Blaber and Bridget Hunter. Tom and Bridget were the victorious pair. A bring and share tea was enjoyed by all participants! A great afternoons tennis!😀
