The Annual General Meeting will take place as above. This meeting will be held on line via Zoom due to current restrictions. Full details will be circulated as soon as possible regarding a link. The Officers and Management Committee will be elected at that meeting. It should be noted that anyone who wishes to stand for any position, or who nominates or seconds anyone who stands, must be a current member. A list of committee positions and the current post holders will be made available in order that nominations can be made prior to the meeting
It is intended that reports will be made available prior to that date for members to look through and will not be read out at the meeting. Time will be made available should there be any questions regarding any of the reports. Any items for inclusion on the Agenda should be submitted in writing to me by Monday, 12th April, 2021.
Well, what a year! Since I last wrote to you our lives have changed in many different ways, but the 50-50 Club carries on in its traditional way by helping our wonderful tennis club and now it needs even more help than ever from past and present members and friends.
Christopher Orlik, Suzanne Bull and Carol Grant are just a few of the 50-50 Club members who have won first prize in the past year – let’s hope we can add your name to the list next year. Many thanks to the 58 people who joined the 50-50 Club last year; ranging in age from pre-school to octogenarians, which meant we were able to have 12 monthly draws. Hopefully more participants will join this year and we will be able to have more and BIGGER prizes.
This mutually beneficial event is one of the ways we raise money for Knowle Lawn Tennis Club. Loyal members past and present have dug deep in their pockets and have been a great support and I hope this year will be no different, but for those of you who don’t know what it’s all about let me explain ….
For a one-off payment of £15 your name will be entered in a series of draws over the next year
Each month 3 names will be drawn to win a monetary prize such as £20, £10 or £5
The first draw will take place in March 2021
A list of winners will be posted on the club notice board
Under lottery regulations we can only give a proportion of the money collected as prize money the rest goes to club funds
Please let me have your completed entry form which is also attached to this email and a cheque for £15 made payable to Knowle Lawn Tennis Club or cash or you can do a Bank Transfer to: Knowle Lawn Tennis Club Sort Code: 60-12-29 A/c No: 76412393 Ref: FFC and your name as soon as possible. Please let me know if you are doing a Bank Transfer.
Ask other members of your family or friends to join too – it’s probably the best investment around at the moment!! The more people who join – the bigger the prizes. Remember all profits will be used to ensure our club maintains and improves its wonderful facilities. Please be generous.
Following the LTA Guidelines it needs to be an organised event – so the first 16 players will be allocated courts, then after that it is normal club play rules and you can mix up with all the other players. Obviously keeping in mind social distancing.
So if you aren’t able to make it at the start you can still book but let either Matt or Dave know. If you are unable to attend you can cancel your booking or let the coaches know. A maximum of 30 people are allowed at each session.
All members and abilities welcome to join in the fun.
Wednesday Club Play – 6.30pm till 8.30pm Please contact Matt: 07753 746 126 or email@example.com Note: Tuesday evening is the deadline for the court allocation of the first 16 players.
